On 4/14/24 at 1523 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a pickup near Island Lake Rd. and Alexander Rd. in Nikiski. Investigation revealed the passenger, Leroy Blaine Hoeldt, 63 of Nikiski, had two outstanding arrest warrants for Failure to Comply with Conditions of Release with original charges of Theft 2nd degree, Forgery 3rd degree, Theft 1st degree, and Violating Conditions of Release. Hoeldt was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial with $5,000 bail.

On April 9th, 2024 at approximately 2330 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a 911 call about a disturbance at a residence down East End Road. AST and Homer Police Department (HPD) responded to the residence. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Joseph Harrington, age 40 of Homer, for one count of DV Assault in the 4th Degree, one count of DUI, one count of Interfere with Report of Crime Involving DV, and one count of DV Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree. Joseph was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

Miller was arrested on two outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear for pretrial hearing with original charges of Criminal Trespass 1st degree and Driving with a Revoked License. Miller was transported and remanded at Wildwood pretrial with a $250 bail

On 4/15/2024 at approximately 0821 hours AST was dispatched to Wasilla in reference to a single vehicle rollover collision. Investigations revealed Robert Casello YOA 37 of Wasilla, left the scene of an accident without immediately giving notice. Robert was cited for Failing to Give Immediate Notice of Accident and given a court date for a mandatory court appearance.

On 4/15/2024 at approximately 1500 hours AST made contact with Edward Danner YOA 27 of Wasilla at his residence in reference to his active warrants out of Anchorage. Edward had three active warrants for Failure to Appear (FTA) x3 for OUI X2 and Assault. Edward was arrested and transported to Matsu Pre-Trial where he was remanded and held on $300 USD Bail for his three warrants ($100.00 each).

On April 14, 2024, at 1745 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a REDDI at 245 Famers Loop Road (Sourdough fuel gas Station). It was reported a vehicle stopped at sourdough fuel to get gas, when the driver got out of the vehicle he was stumbling around. Investigation revealed Vitaly F. Malyk 40 Y/O of Fairbanks, was driving under the influence with three minors in the vehicle. Mr. Malyk provided a sufficient sample of his breath to the Datamaster of .343. Mr. Malyk was arrested and remanded to FCC for Driving under the influence and 3 counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree.

On April 11, 2024 at about 4:45 PM, the Eagle Village Public Safety Officer responded to a structure fire with the Eagle Volunteer Fire Department. The two story out building was fully engulfed on their arrival. Fire personnel and VPSOs prevented the spread of the fire to the nearby house. The State Fire Marshall's office was consulted on this incident. The cause of the fire was determined to be an accident and no criminal activity is suspected. Two individuals sustained minor smoke inhalation and burns prior to VPSO arrival. They were transported to the clinic and then released.

On April 14th 2024, at about 1738, Troopers responded to the area of Lakeview Terrace for the report of a stolen vehicle being sold on the Facebook Market Place. Upon further investigation, Troopers ran checks on 17 vehicles located on the property, with two of them being stolen. John McClain of Fairbanks was charged with two counts of Theft in the 2nd degree for Theft of Mislaid property.

On 04/15/24 around 0936 hours, Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Galena received a report of damage to a residence which appeared to have been caused by someone discharging a firearm at the homeowner's window. AST responded and investigation showed Alphonsus "Al" Peters (age 67 of Nulato) discharged a 12-gauge shotgun at the homeowners residence causing damage to the window and window trim. Alphonsus was arrested and transported to Fairbanks where he was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center (FCC) on one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 2nd Degree and one count of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree.

Today Alaska Department of Public Safety Commissioner James Cockrell issued an emergency order extending the statutory deadline to remove studded tires from vehicles operating on Alaska roadways for areas north of the 60° North Latitude line. Due to extended winter weather conditions across much of the southcentral and interior Alaska, the order was issued to ease the burden of Alaskans and ensure drivers can safely operate their vehicles during the extended winter season.
Alaskans living above the 60° North Latitude line, including all portions of the Sterling Highway, may use studded tires on Alaska roadways until May 15, 2024.
Latitude 60° crosses Alaska from east to west, just south of Prince William Sound, Seward, and Chefornak.

Location: WasillaType: Fail to Stop 2nd/ MICS 5Dispatch Text:
Update: On 04/15/2024, a search warrant was executed on the vehicle where user amounts of fentanyl powder were located in the area Beasley was reaching prior to stopping his vehicle. Charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 5th Degree are being filed with the Palmer DAO.
On 04/11/2024 at approximately 1444 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a blue Hyundai Sedan for multiple violations near mile 52 of the Parks Highway. The vehicle did not immediately yield to the trooper and continued for approximately one mile while attempting to hide items within the vehicle. The vehicle ultimately stopped and continued to disobey commands. The male was later detained without further incident and was identified as William Beasley, age 28 of Wasilla. Further investigation lead to K9 Bruce being deployed for a narcotics sniff on the exterior of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive indication. Beasley was released on scene with a criminal summons for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer 2nd Degree. The investigation is ongoing.

On 04/13/2024 at approximately 2147 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team attempted a traffic stop on a Silver GMC Yukon for a moving violation on Pittman Road in Wasilla. The vehicle failed to yield to the trooper and continued for about one mile driving recklessly before reaching a dead end road. The vehicle tried to elude but a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) was used to end the pursuit in a safe manner. The driver, Kenneth Davison, age 60 of Wasilla, complied after the trooper ended the pursuit and was detained without further incident. Investigation revealed Davison ran because he thought he had an outstanding arrest warrant which he did not have. Davison was remanded to MATSU Pretrial on Fail to Stop at the Direction of Peace Officer 1st Degree and Driving While License Revoked.
